I Feel The Need, The Need For Lawsuits

This week, female gymnasts filed a $1B lawsuit against the FBI for its role covering up abuse at the hands of Larry Nasser.  Gold medal Olympian McKayla Maroney explained, “My fellow survivors and I were betrayed by every institution that was supposed to protect us — the US Olympic Committee, USA Gymnastics, the FBI and now the Department of Justice.  It is clear that the only path to justice and healing is through the legal process.”  Maggie Nichols added, “It is time for the FBI to be held accountable.”

So, too, has our path in holding Independent X School accountable led to the legal process.  Adding to lawsuits against SpenceCharlotte Latin SchoolLatin School of ChicagoUniversity School of MilwaukeeFrederick Gunn School, comes a suit against “act ethically” Brentwood School.  No doubt “Dr. Mike” is making the most of difficult conversations with the trustees and crisis management lawyers, especially after Brentwood’s head of middle school resigned suddenly with only weeks left of school.  With a slew of recent expulsions at Independent X School these final weeks, other suits lie in wait.
