Parents of boy, 15, who killed himself sue $40,000-a-year private Chicago school claiming officials knew he was being cyberbullied by students and at least one mother who called his parents anti-vaxxers
A 15-year-old boy asked for a meeting with the dean of his $40,000-a-year private Chicago school to report that several students were bullying him via text messages and on Snapchat – one of which encouraged him to kill himself.
- Nate Bronstein, 15, took his own life on January 13, 2022 at his family’s home
- A month earlier, the teen had asked to meet with the dean of the Latin School of Chicago to report several incidents of bullying
- The dean of the $40,000-a-year private Chicago school listened to him, but took no disciplinary action, a new lawsuit filed by the teen’s parents claims
- Rose and Robert Bronstein filed the suit on April 25, 2022 , detailing how they raised concerns of their son’s adjustment to the school with administrators
- They believe if the school would have ‘done their job’ and reported what had gone on within school, he would still be alive’
