Third Amended Complaint: Rosellene and Robert Bronstein v. Latin School of Chicago, et al. — Wrongful Death and Negligence Following the Suicide of Nathan Bronstein

This lawsuit was filed by Rose and Robert Bronstein against the Latin School of Chicago and several current and former administrators after the death of their 15-year-old son, Nathan (“Nate”) Bronstein, by suicide in January 2022.

The complaint states that Nate was cyberbullied by certain basketball teammates and classmates at the Latin School of Chicago. Nate reported the cyberbullying to the Dean of Students, but the school deliberately downplayed his report and intentionally failed to inform the Bronsteins.

The lawsuit claims the school failed to follow Illinois’ Anti-Bullying Law, withheld information from his parents, and later attempted to cover up its negligence. The Bronsteins argue that Latin misrepresented itself as a safe, inclusive community while fostering a culture where bullying was overlooked to protect its reputation and influential families. The suit seeks accountability and damages for negligence, fraud, emotional distress, and statutory violations.
