Chicago teen committed suicide after relentless bullying about his vaccination status: Lawsuit
A student, 15, at the prestigious Latin School of Chicago was “tormented on a regular basis” by students until he died by suicide in January, a lawsuit filed Monday alleges, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The suit is filed by the teen’s parents, Robert and Rosellene Bronstein, accusing school officials of “willful failure” to respond to the bullying. Several complaints from the boy and his family were filed before the student took his own life. The complaint, filed in Cook County, names the school, a number of employees and parents of the alleged bullies.
The lawsuit claims the student had actually been vaccinated, but he was still harassed on a regular basis due to rumors that he had not gotten inoculated. The Bronsteins had even reached out to the other student’s family about the constant badgering, the suit claims.
